Ian Summerscales is Carpentry & Joinery  Services

Having left school in 1981, I began my career with a full indentured apprenticeship in carpentry and joinery, leading to the City and Guilds Advanced Craft Certificate in 1984.

I then worked in the Shopfitting, Joinery and Building trades (1984 - 1995).  Where I developed my passion for working with wood.  I entered several National Woodworker Shows with pieces I had made and with the credits I received, realised my potential and so sought work in the bespoke furniture business.

In 1995, a position came up to work with the renowned East Devon furniture makers W. Garvey Ltd.  It was here that I gained both the knowledge and technical skills needed in bespoke joinery and furniture making.  During my time I was appointed Team Leader in the production of the company's teak bath and sink product range, as well as Health and Safety Advisor and First Aider.

In 2008, with over 20 years experience in the trade I formed Carpentry & Joinery Services. Working in workshops situated local to Feniton, Devon, which are fully equipped to undertake any challenge in wood and design.

I offer a service catering to the needs of my clients,as well as a variety of bespoke work - no matter how small the job might be.

Available throughout Devon and the South of England.
